The Code of Conduct Pledge that all rowers and their parent/guardian signs is central and critical to the smooth functioning of our club.  Adherence to and enforcement of the Code is for the benefit of all members of the club with the objective to be a competitive team.

In the past, violations of the Code have been extremely rare, however, it is important that rowers and parents are familiar with the procedure that will be used by the club should a violation occur:

Coaches who discover a violation will consider the severity of the violation in the context of its impact to the team effort or safety of individual(s).  The coach will discuss the violation with the rower and report the violation with rower's response to the Parents Executive Committee.  A Board of Review composed of members of the Parents Executive Committee will convene to review the violation.  If the Board finds the rower to be in violation of the Code, a warning letter will be sent to the parent/guardian.  If the conduct persists, a second letter will be sent to advise the rowers and parents/guardians that the rower will be required to withdraw participation for the remainder of the current and following racing seasons.  No refund of dues/fees that were previously paid will be granted.

Parents may appeal the Board's finding by sending written documentation to the President for review by the Board.  The Board's decision is considered final.

We hope that it will not be necessary to use this procedure.  We publish this notice to remind rowers and parents/guardians that adherence to the Code of Conduct is imperative.
